Or perhaps you want to polish off some skills you’ve been working on? We’ll be helping you get into full face – whether that’s femme, masc or beyond. We’ll be getting ready from the clavicle up and ending with a fab photo shoot.\n ✨Everything you need to know✨\nEver thought about doing a little gender bending? Perhaps you’ve been longing to get up into drags for the first time? Or maybe you want to polish off some skills you’ve been working on in your bedroom since we’ve all been shut inside?\nWell have no fear, Sam Message the dragging queer is here to help you do it! \n*no experience necessary, but more experienced queens, kings and creatures also welcome!*\nIn this workshop we’ll be slapping on the makeup to put together a full face of drag makeup. Whether you’re going femme, masc or beyond Sam’s got tips and tricks for you. They will also be on hand to demonstrate techniques, advise and step in if you’re stuck in a pinch. \nDeveloping a full drag character and getting to grips with drag makeup is an artform that takes time, but under Sam’s care we’re going to throw together a first taste of being up in drags in a couple hours.\nWe’re going to have makeup and all the tools required on hand, but here’s the T: we’re on a bit of a budget so if you have anything for your own face (tools/makeup etc) you are more than welcome to bring it along (pwetty pwease? – especially foundation if you want a good match for your skin tone). \nWe will of course be providing makeup for a variety of skin tones and everything you’ll need to take your fantasy off before the end of the session if you don’t want to wear your lewk home. \nAfter getting our faces fully painted, we’ll have some wigs and accessories to zjoosh up [finesse] our looks.\nWe’re also going to be joined by the fabulous photographer Kolbrún Inga Söring to capture your creations – the absolute cherry on top <3<3\nSam Message is a drag-something, performance artist working with the surreal, the subversive and the political. In their work they drag the public headfirst into a space that oscilates between the utopic and the crushing terrors of our bullshit racist classist ableist cis-het reality. They are also a curator specialising in queer and feminist histories and themes, a researcher of queering practice and theory and an evaluator and facilitator working with accessibility and engagement. \n
