Well also be talking to SAQMI’s Anna Linder about the power of LGBTQ+ film to change lives.\n ✨Everything you need to know✨\nWe’re screening the enticing, the fabulous, the enigmatic: Eskimo Diva. Eskimo Diva is a film following Nuka Carmen Bisgaard in her bid to take her drag performance around Greenland. Throughout her journey she is met by strong opposition – and perhaps even hatred from some – but she stays determined in her bid to create a space for freedom.\nIn short, this film is about activist, entrepreneur and filmmaker Nuka and her bid to front an LGBTQ+ revolution.\nJoining us for this dive into LGBTQ+ film will be the Swedish Archive For Queer Moving Images’ (SAQMI) very own Anna Linder.\nWe’re going to be talking to Anna about the power of LGBTQ+ film and the importance of making visible the diverse experiences of LGBTQ+ people.\nAnna is one of THE movers and shakers in our little slice of LGBTQ+ Gothenburg. She is the driving force of SAQMI, which is surely and steadily becoming the place for exciting LGBTQ+ film in Sweden. \nFounded only in 2016, SAQMI has cemented itself as a portal for queer moving images. Working with queer archivists, historians, librarins, technicians and designers, the organisation is spreading the hidden queer history of moving images far and wide. Alongside their work making these important slices of our LGBTQ+ cultural heritage visible, SAQMI works tirelessly to encourage new filmmakers in waiting to dare to create the types of moving images they want to see in the world.\n
