OPEN CALL : Initiations

We need to shake it up. Gothenburg needs a loud, naughty and loving night of delicious drag. 🔥🔥🔥 That’s why we’re bringing you Cult, a new night full of themed fabulous performances 😱😱😱 

BUT FIRST! 

We need performers! This is where you come in, yes you, you who has no experience and you who’s a semi-seasoned pro and you who’s somewhere between or beyond these categorisations! As long as you’re dreaming about doing drag then this is for you!

We know that drag can be super intimidating to get into and there’s a lot of barriers between you and doing your first performance but have no fear, Status Queer is here 🦹‍♀️💥

We’re putting together ‘initiations’: a mini free-school to build a grassroots fun, fearless and radical performance scene here in Gothenburg. Through a series of 5 different sessions you will develop a drag persona, look and performance from beginning to end. At the end you’ll be inducted into our cult and take to the stage for a public performance in our first ever CULT night.

This series is open to beginners and those with more experience too. What’s most important to us is we get a wide variety of voices and performers to get the ball rolling for an exciting, regular and cutting edge drag scene that we’re craving!
